The GSAC Election System is a digital platform for cooperative members to vote for the board of directors and committee members. I led both UI/UX design and front-end development, creating a simple, accessible, and reliable voting experience for a member base primarily aged 40 and above.
PROBLEM SPACE
The cooperative’s previous voting process presented several challenges:
Demographic gap: Many members are 40+ and unfamiliar with digital platforms.
Confusing interfaces: Prior systems were cluttered and non-intuitive.
Low engagement & trust: Members felt unsure about navigating digital voting, which discouraged participation.
The challenge was to design and implement a system that feels familiar, easy to use, and trustworthy for older users.
SOLUTION
I delivered a complete end-to-end solution, from interface design to functional implementation:
Intuitive UI/UX: Step-by-step flow guides members from login to vote submission, minimizing errors.
Accessibility-focused design: Larger fonts, high-contrast visuals, and clear labeling support users with varying digital literacy.
Interactive feedback: Real-time confirmations and prompts build confidence and reduce mistakes.
Front-end implementation: Developed a responsive, fast, and reliable platform using modern web technologies to ensure smooth interactions across devices.
This project bridges design and development, providing a voting system that is accessible, trustworthy, and fully functional, tailored to the cooperative’s unique member demographic.
